About Me
My name is Maaz Siddiq. I am a 16 year old from Hartford, Connecticut in my junior year in high school. Being a brown Muslim in America, I had to live in between two cultures. Due to this, I have learned differences in cultures from an early age. This exposure to differing cultures gave me a mentality to learn more about different cultures and a desire to learn.
So far, I have been a part of multiple trips across the world. My origin being from Pakistan, I have been there the most, but I have also travelled to Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Morocco, Canada. I have seen people live in different ways, with different cultures and societies and I am quite grateful for the opportunities. I have also done some service in other countries, such as going to the Dominican Republic and helped with construction and distributing medications.
I also do things at home. I go to my local mosque and talk with people from Arabic, African and Pakistani descent. I am a part of my school's Model UN team and a member of the Political Discourse Club. Through these activities, I have learned quite a bit about international and domestic politics and political tensions.
I am grateful for all I have been able to do and I am looking forward to learning more as my life moves forward.
